Our Curriculum
Music
The school aims to foster pupils' understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of music through singing, instrumental playing, dance, composing and active involvement in listening.

Music is taught throughout the school to develop a wide variety of skills in order that children acquire a sense of enjoyment, confidence and motivation to participate in musical activities.

Children have the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities such as recorder groups for all levels. The school orchestra brings together a variety of instruments to perform at concerts in school and collectively with other schools. Children are also involved in traditional maypole dancing, musical productions and instrumental tuition, including guitar, flute, clarinet and saxaphone. Parents in receipt of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Working Families Tax Credit or Disabled Persons Tax Credit may be entitled to a bursary or subsidy from external funds. At times children join with neighbouring schools to participate in local music workshops and festivals.
